Easy Peelers

Nova

A very sweet, semi-seeded member of the mandarin family. Nova has a rich flavour, dark orange colour and fine texture, as well as high sugar levels resulting in a sweet and easy eating experience. Nova tends to be more flat to round, depending on production practices, making the fruit attractive for various market segments. It is an easy growing, mid-season variety with an exceptional shelf life.

Valley Gold

Valley Gold seedless has a deep orange to red external appearance. The internal fruit colour is dark orange. The fruit has high sugar with good acid levels, making this variety an excellent eating experience. Orchards produce both a flat and round shape, with a smooth skin texture, making marketing to different segments easier.

Clementine

The clementine has a juicy, superbly sweet flesh and is generally seedless. A petite fruit, bright orange in appearance with a thin, round easy-to-peel skin, rich with essential oils and citrus aromatics. The skin of a clementine clings loosely to the segmented flesh to allow for easy peeling and instant enjoyment.

Lemons

Eureka

Eureka lemons are medium-small, elliptical in shape, and sometimes longitudinally ridged. The fruit usually have a slight neck and a short nipple. The rind is milky-white to yellow at maturity, has sunken oil glands, and is slightly textured. The flesh is pale greenish-yellow, low-seeded, and very acidic providing longer storage ability.

Navelates

Cambria

The Cambria navelate orange is a type of late orange that is high in sugar, seedless and has a rich, juicy flavour which is delicious for eating out of hand. Fruit size is medium with an oval shape and has a small navel which is often concealed. It is a top-quality orange with a smooth, deep orange coloured peel. Cambria has good shelf life.

Glen Ora Late Navels

The fruit is firm with a thinnish rind and mostly small navel ends. Closed core with a deep orange flesh colour. May have an internal navel and has no seeds. This variety is large in size, with a round shape, great taste and a good shelf life.

Rustenburg

A late-season orange that is high in sugar, seedless and has a rich, juicy flavour. It is firm with tender flesh that provides a rich and pleasant flavour. It is a top-quality orange with a smooth, thin and deep orange coloured peel. Rustenburg is immediately recognisable by its oval shape. Rustenburg has exceptional shelf life. Rustenburg navelate is recognised as the primary eating orange throughout the world.

Witkrans

The fruit shape is usually round to oval, with a smooth peel and a closed navel end. The fruit is juicy, seedless, with good internal quality and soft fibre. The Witkrans Late navel was chosen exclusively for its late ripening time, good fruit size, good internal fruit quality, high fruit production and firmness. Witkrans is rounder in shape compared with the oval shaped Rustenburg navelate. Witkrans has exceptional shelf life, similar to Rustenburg.

Bahianina

The Bahianina navel orange is a type of sweet orange that is seedless and has a rich, juicy flavour that is delicious for eating out of hand. The fruit is medium sized, round-shaped and has a deep orange colour. It peels easily and the tender flesh provides a rich and pleasant flavour. Bahianina navel is an early season variety, recognised as a primary eating orange throughout the world. This early season variety has a moderate to good shelf life.

Cara Cara

The Cara Cara orange boasts a trifecta of attributes. It has the external appearance of a true navel orange, only to reveal a rich red fleshy interior due to the presence of the pigment lycopene. It offers a succulent flavour, sweeter than navels and more comparable to tangerines, with robust citrus aromatics. It has a smooth, yet slightly pebbled, easy-to-peel skin and when zested, releases bright floral fragrances. This seedless navel is known to have a good shelf life.

Navelina

The fruit is medium to large in size and slightly pear-shaped with a small navel. This seedless variety matures very early and is juicy with a sweet flavour that is less sprightly than the Washington navel. Normal skin texture, yellow to orange colour appearance with a moderate shelf life.

Palmer

The Palmer navel orange is a type of sweet orange that is seedless and has a rich, juicy flavour that is delicious for eating out of hand. The fruit is large, round-oval shaped and has a deep orange colour. It peels easily and the tender flesh provides a rich and pleasant flavour. Palmer navel is recognised as a primary eating orange throughout the world, with a good storage ability.

Fukumoto

Fukumoto navel oranges are medium to large in size, averaging 5-8 centimetres in diameter, and are spherical to oblate in shape with a rounded depression, also known as a navel, on the blossom stem end. Both the internal and external colour is yellow-orange and the navels are seedless. It is one of the earliest varieties in the UniChoice navels harvest and packing season. It has good shelf life.

Tulegold

Early maturing seedless navel selection from California. This variety tends to be early ripening and heavy bearing. Taste and appearance are very similar to that of the Bahianina navel.

Valencia

Delta Seedless

The Delta Valencia is a type of juicing orange with round small to medium sized fruit. It is season dependant and seedless. Intense flavour makes it excellent for eating or juicing. It has a well-coloured, moderately thin, and very smooth rind. The fruit generally has a soft, succulent texture with a light orange flesh. Delta Seedless has exceptional shelf life.

Valencia

Midnight

The Midnight Valencia orange is a South African variety of the standard Valencia orange. Other characteristics of the Midnight Valencia orange include its somewhat oblong shape, good juicing quality, earlier ripening than other Valencias and its large, broad leaves. This variety grows larger, juicier fruit with virtually no seeds. It is easier to peel than the standard Valencia orange and produces good yields. This variety is popular as an out-of-hand eating orange as well as a juicing orange. It has exceptional shelf life.

Turkey

This juicing orange is well-coloured, be it with a more yellow tinge than later Valencia varieties, with a characteristic cell-protruding rind and soft, succulent texture. High acid content combines with a high sugar content to produce a typical Valencia variety taste. The variety has little to no seeds. The variety is the earliest Valencia variety in the UniChoice packing and exporting season with good shelf life.

Seedless

This is one of the most popular juicing oranges. The fruit generally has a soft texture with a light orange flesh. High acid and sugar content produce an orange ideal and known for its juice characteristics and taste. It is a medium-sized, seedless, orange-coloured fruit with possibly a tinge of green when ripe.
